Carmel Wedding | Torie + Josh
Torie and Josh are a Tinder success story! After meeting, they bonded over their love of travel, sports and of course delicious food.
These two also were way ahead of the curve and planned a small wedding before all the cool kids were doing it! Seeing as they both live in Denver but have family around the country, why not have a Carmel destination wedding, one of their favorite places to visit.
Although planning during 2020, even a small wedding proved anything but easy. Originally, they intended to get married in a little cove on the beach. Due to restrictions they shifted their ceremony up to Point Pinos Lighthouse in Pacific Grove, California. We think it proved to be the perfect backdrop even if it wasn’t the sandy beach as they had originally envisioned.
They also experienced a moment of panic with their dinner reception venue, Roux restaurant, when the Carmel fires attacked that area mere weeks before their wedding day. Luckily, it all worked out and they were able to have a wonderful al fresco dinner surrounded by their closest family and friends.
Torie’s wedding dress was her Grandmother’s dress from 1951 also worn by her mother in 1980. The dress was completely re-made for Torie by a fabulous wedding dress designer Deedee Vicory and Torie hopes it will be passed on to future generations too. We think Torie looked absolutely stunning in her recreated gown!
They rented the sweetest Airbnb in Carmel for getting ready. It was beautiful and spacious enough for their first look and some portraits too!
As we mentioned, Point Pinos did not disappoint! With its beautiful view and lined by cypress trees, what’s not to love? We even stayed to watch the sunset which was truly spectacular.
They couldn’t have ended the evening in a better way than at Roux restaurant in Carmel. They served delicious appetizers, a giant paella and curated wines. There were also whiskey tastings!
